This problem is dealing with proportions.
Tree A has 40 feet with a 30 feet shadow
Tree B has x feet with a 20 feet shadow (The "x" in this problem represents the unknown feet for Tree B)
Our equation can look like this: (40/30) = (x/20)
If we cross multiply, our equation becomes 20*30 = 40*x
Then we have 600=40x
Thus x=600/40 which is EQUIVALENT to x = 15
