My son just had this problem on his homework. I am an accountant by trade and talk to other parents. No one has the answer. I had to Google it to find out.11/28/18

Remember when converting to a larger weight we divide. So if you total the weight of the pineapple and the orange, it would weigh a total of 1106 grams. Now divide the 1106 grams by 1000 and it will give you the 1.106 kg. When you divide your moving the decimal point to the left. When you multiple you move the decimal point to the right (convert to a smaller weight)10/06/19

Answer is actually 1160grams since the pineapple is 870g MORE than the orange. So 870+145= 1015 (pineapple weight) +145 (orange weight) = 1160grams total ÷ 1000 = 1.160kg01/25/21
