Need math or science help? Look no farther!
I always start by distributing and combining what I can to make an equation nicer to look at. In this particular case, we can distribute the -4 onto the (2+2/5x).
This becomes -8-8/5x.
We now have 2/5x-8-8/5x. We can now combine our like terms and put the 2/5x and -8/5x together. This becomes -6/5x.
Our equation is now -6/5x-8. We can now look at our options and see if it's up there....
I don't see it. Why might that be? Is there another way that we can write that fraction? We can rewrite the improper fraction as a mixed number!
5/5 goes into 6/5 one time, with 1/5 left over. So as a result, we have:
-1 1/5x -8 which does happen to be up there.
