A parachute on a racing dragster opens in changes the speed of the car from 125 m/s to 65 m/s in a period of 4.5 seconds what is the acceleration of the dragster

v₁ = 125 m/s

v₂ = 65 m/s

Δt = 4.5 s

a = (v₂ - v₁) / Δt

You have all the numbers you need. Plug them in and get a in m/s². Note the acceleration in this problem is negative.
