First it is necessary to understand what the central dogma is. Central dogma outlines the flow of genetic information from DNA to RNA to proteins. DNA replicates itself to maintain a supply, DNA creates RNA through the process of transcription, and proteins are generated through the translation of RNA. There is no area in this flow of genetic information which accounts for the development of traits during an individual's lifetime. Traits developed during an individual's lifetime are not genetic, and are therefore not inheritable.
