So, if the cubes which are put inside of the box each have sides of 1 inch, then the volume of each cube is 1 cubic inch because the length and width and height of each cube is 1 so 1in x 1in x 1in = 1 cubic inch
( or 1 in3) . Since the box has a volume of 64 cubic inches, then exactly 64 cubes can fit in the box.
64 x 1in3 = 64 in3
