White-eyed Drosophila have increased sensitivity to light, so you would be more likely to find them away from harsh light - but if it's truly the fruit fly you're talking about, it's important to note that white white-eye phenotype is based on a mutation that is not favorable for them. There are a lot of neurological deficits in these flies, they live shorter spans, and are less successful in reproduction. As such, you might not find them dividing habitats with the wild type equally.
