Life Learning with a Sociology Enthusiast
If Hosea is merely watching and not participating, this would be referred to as an ethnography. Ethnographic research is a type of qualitative method that involves observing, exploring, and understanding groups within their own context. However, if Hosea was also participating, this would be referred to as participant observation. This is also a qualitative method, but, unlike ethnography, involves the active participation of the researcher with the group that they are observing.
I hope this helps! Please reach out if you have any questions or need a lesson!
