Does the death of an organism prior to reproduction affect the process of natural selection? Explain?

Absolutely! Natural selection requires that heritable traits are PASSED ON to offspring. If an organism does not survive to reproduce, it cannot pass its traits to offspring/the next generation. Likely, that organism did not possess characteristics to make it the most fit in its environment.
