A chemical spill in a home lab is moving at 20 gallons per minute. If the container holds 3,000 gallons, how long will it take to empty the container half way?

Volume of half of the container = 3000 gallons * 0.5 = 1500 gallons

Time taken to empty half-way: Volume/Rate = 1500 gallons/20 gallons/minute = 75 minutes = 1 hour 15 minutes
