what is area of a paper , if I peel it into 2 separate parts

If I have a paper which has a height of 5 cm and base of 10 cm , then the area must be :

Area of a rectangle = base * height so ,

5*10 = 50 cm² , should be the answer to this right ,

But what is the area of the paper when I peel the paper from side and have another paper from the same paper , ( as u can do it with wet paper etc )

Now u have another paper of the same size , so the area of both paper must be 100cm² right ?

But before we said that the area of first paper is 50cm² ,

And I did not go and get a new another paper ,

So technically I m diving the paper in half by peeling it ,

So how can that increase the araa of my paper .
