Difference b/w Abstract and Introduction writing for a research paper?

I was slightly confused with differentiating Abstract and Introduction writing for a research paper. What is the difference between these sections? They seem to be similar.

The abstract is basically a summary of your entire paper. It should include relevance, important results, and conclusions.

The introduction focuses on the background to the question you ask/hypothesis you test. It should summarize what is known and highlight the big picture unknowns that your work fills in.
