Can some prokaryotic cells be larger than eukaryotic cells?

Can the sizes overlap in some bacterial species? My science teacher claims so. My research says the opposite. Can someone confirm?

It is a general rule that a larger size requires the physical aspects that only eukaryotic cells have. However, nature likes to break the rules. Case in point: Thiomargarita namibiensis. Discovered in 1999, this prokaryotic bacteria can be seen with the naked eye.
