Adam paid $540 for 8 hotdogs on a stick and 3 orange juice. Each hotdog costs thrice as much as each orange juice. How much did the 8 hotdog on stick cost?

Let x = the orange juice price then

3x = hot dog price

According the number bought 8(3x) + 3x = 540 or 27x = 540 then x = $20

Orange Juice Price = $20

Hot Dog Price = $60
