How to add motion blur in timelapse videos?

I remember watching a video about timelapse photography. There was a moment when the narrator explained that there is a specific trick to make the videos "smoother":- In the timelapse videos which don't use this trick, if people are moving, they suddenly appear at a precise frame, then disappear,- In the videos which use the trick, we have a feeling that they are smoothly moving, like if there was a motion blur.What is this technique? What is it called? Is it done when taking photos or during post-processing?

This can be done by using a slow shutter speed, which will cause moving people and cars to blur. To achieve this, use a shutter speed around 1/8 or 1/15th of a second; I recommend experimenting with different speeds.

If you're shooting a timelapse outside in the daytime, you might need a neutral density filter on the lens, or polarizing filter, to avoid overexposure. And set the ISO to lowest setting (50 or 100), with small f-stop (f16 or f22).
