This simple question is used for training on writing and solving equations.
Let Y be the number, and let X be the other number. Then
Y = X + 6
by substituting a value for X you get the value of Y. For instance if X is 3 then Y is 9 because Y = 3 + 6. As the values of X are infinite, then Y has infinite solutions.
