Hi Jiffy,
So your first step in this question is to get 6m 20 cm all into meters since we are being asked to eventually split it all into .1m lengths.
So there are 100 cm in a m. This means we divide 20 by 100 which gives us .2 m.
6m and .2m altogether makes 6.2m.
Now we take the 6.2m and divide it by .1m to find out how many lengths there would be.
6.2/.1 = 62 lengths
