The cinema can no longer be used.' Is this correct in English?

It depends on the context. If someone asks, for example, "Can the cinema (i.e. the local movie theater) be used for a fund raiser?" it would be correct to reply this way, as in "As you know, we used to hold fund raisers there but it got sold and the new management won't allow it, so it can no longer be used." Without knowing the context of that sentence, however, it is difficult to give a precise answer to your question.

It's fine...as it stands alone. But remember, English often depends on the CONTEXT of your meaning. "Can vs Could" illustrate such complications: Can means definite, but could means possibly. But wait--there's more!!! TENSE. If "The cinema CAN no longer be used." = Present Tense. But, "If it COULD no longer be used." = Past Tense. Crazy English, huh?
