The cytoskeleton is what provides structure to cells. The main proteins that make up the cytoskeleton are microfilaments (helps with cell division and muscles), intermediate filaments (mainly helps with structural support and are what makes up our skin, hair and nails), and microtubules (also helps in cell division). All of these filaments make up the cytoskeleton.
