Loose connective tissue, as the name suggests, consists of less tightly packed connective fibers (collagen, reticular, elastic fibers) and has large amounts of salt, water, and other molecules that allow for the diffusion of cells through the tissue. Because of this function loose CT is often located underlying epithelium but also includes fat and other tissue types.
A- correct- the spleen and lymph nodes are both sites where cells need to move freely from one compartment to another and loose connective tissue facilitates this movement.
B- wrong- There is connective surrounding the eye but that is dense not loose
C- wrong- The basement membrane anchors epithelium to connective tissue so it does not really contain connective tissue.
D- wrong- Both tendons and ligaments are both made of dense connective tissue.
E- wrong- There is actually dense connective underlying the vaginal epithelium rather than loose connective tissue
