I used the distance speed time formula to solve. (D = S * T)
D = distance (to school)
S = speed
T = time (to walk to school)
First I solved for T:
6T = 35 (T-.75) 6 MPH times how long it took to walk to school equals 35 MPH times how long it
took to walk to school minus .75 of an hour
6T = 35T - 26.25
29T = 26.25
T = about .9 or 54 minutes
Then I substituted in using the distance speed time formula:
D = 6 * .9
D = 5.4 miles
