Usually I like to try to write everything down to help visualize the problem better.
v (velocity/speed) = 150 kph
t = time
d (distance) = 100km
d = vt
100 = 150t
100/150 = t
2/3 = t
Answer: 2/3 of an hour = 40 minutes
Or here is another way to approach the problem
100 / t = 100km per t hours
150kph = 150 / 1 = 150kph can be translated into 150 km divide by 1 hour
Since we know that both equations or fractions above must be equal we can write the following equation.
100 / t = 150 / 1
Now we cross multiple to solve for t
100*1 = t * 150
100 = 150 t (now divide both sides by 150 to isolate the variable t)
100/150 = t
2/3 = t
t = 2/3 hour or 40 minutes
