Hello and Good Afternoon Abigail,
To answer your question, the easiest way that I find to help you answer this problem is to re-write the original problem (y= x-3) at the top of your paper and create a 'T' right below this, with the 'X' on the left side and the 'Y' on the right side.
When trying to solve for Y, you would place the chosen X coordinates under the left hand side of the T, and then you would plug in the number for each coordinate. Thus, when X = -3, then Y = -6 (Y= -3 -3). When X =0, then Y= -3 (Y=0-3); and, finally, when X = 3, then Y=0 (Y = 3-3).
The last thing you will need to do is to graph this line with the respective coordinates. Please reach out to me with any additional questions.
