Militarily there was very little significance except that it bought extra time for Texas to form a larger army. Much more importantly was the psychological effect. The anger at the massacre and the cry of "Remember the Alamo" inspired many Texans to fight. The Alamo also caused Texas to gain sympathy from the United States as well as awoken them to the perils that would sonn face them.
