What is the difference between "tuyo" and "suyo"?

I see them both being used to represent possession. For example: > El gato es suyo and > El gato es tuyo. Are these sentences the same? What is the difference between these words?

"Suyo" and "Tuyo", booth mean "yours", but "suyo" is formal like "usted", and "tuyo" is the informal form like (tu').

While they do mean the same (possessive). Tuyo is the informal possessive while Suyo is the Formal possesive. You would use Tuyo with a known friend or colleague. You would use Suyo with a formal address and an unknown person.
