Hi,
Make sure your file has a color profile (a gray one). If your image has none go to Edit--->Assign Profile. If your image has a color profile but not the good one got to Edit--->Convert to profile.
Also make sure that you're using the same working space in Photoshop AND the Gimp, Adobe 98 usually works for everything. In Photoshop got to Edit--->Color Settings and choose Adobe 98, for the Gimp Im not sure but if you google "how to set the working space for the gimp" you should find it.
