Slowly changing the world
- An increase in centrally held power.
Because the colonists were so tired of British rule, Republicanism became a popular trend among the colonies. Many of the colonies were already beginning to experiment with self-representation before the war for independence. As a result, the US was predisposed toward a more decentralized, federal form of government. Furthermore, many of the founding fathers believed a government that was too centralized would be tyrannical, as the British were to them.
