A climax community can replace itself over time.
For example: a bush community would not be a climax community if trees were to begin growing and taking over 40 years later. However, environments like tropical rainforests will remain tropical rainforests forever unless you tear them down, but then hundreds of years later, tropical rainforests will be there once again.
