The document Magna Carta was signed by King John in 1215. People were not allowed to be deprived of their liberty, lives, or poverty unless brought in under the court of law. Kings were subject to be tried in the court of law. This document helped influence the U.S. Constitution, by having an impact on the 10 Amendments at the time.
