Hey ! So a great idea would be to try to find actual imagery to assist you in your drawing. It's appealing, but extremely hard to draw just from the mind or from memory, so if you could find pictures on Google image or maybe Pinterest to draw from it would probably start looking better. For example, if you're visualizing a girl laying in a bed of flowers, try searching that directly or try looking up an image of a girl laying and then look up the flowers separately. Making up lists and words like you are doing now is perfect and a great way to start. If you want it to look good I would also suggest sketching rough (and i mean ROUGH) on some spare scrap paper or a tablet before you dive into the diary.
