I need help on finding the percent.

A student who missed 12 of 160 points must have earned 148 of the 160.

 

'Percent' means per hundred, so...

You can set up a proportion.

148/160 = x/100

Cross multiply.

160x = 148(100)

Simplify

160x = 14800

Divide by 160

x = 14800/160

Simplify fraction... such as divide by 40

370/4 = 185/2 = 92.5%
