Area of Broca(motor), in the frontal lobe. Area of Wernick in temporal lobes(sensitivity), and the arcuate connections.
That's why in stokes with have Broca aphasia, wernicke aphasia, and mixte aphasia.
So when they are disrupted we understand their function:
In Broca/ motor aphasia: the patient understands what you ask/ narrate, but he can't answer you properly.
In Wernicke/ sensitive aphasia: the patient hears you but unable to understand, however, he answered talking about other topics, simply because he did not understand the question.
