1. I added "that is" in front of used to because it helps distinguish your intended meaning from the "used to" phrase that describes continuous or repeated states in the past (She used to work here), or being accustomed to something (I'm used to taking the stairs).
2. Rather than saying "black color", I would change it to a noun phrase- the color black- to clarify it is the conceptual meaning of the Chinese character you are writing about, as opposed to any random color shade that is perceived to have black in it and therefore be categorized as "a black color".
