Post production removal of uneven green screen with glass object shattering in foreground?

We have a glass object falling and shattering into many shards. Unfortunately the green screen was uneven causing different shadings on the background.Our edior says to use the shot, he would have to rotoscope all the frames which is not practical on our budget for our short film. It is a very important shot.Is there an alternative way of removing all of the green screen by computer by screening out a range shades of green?

You're complicating the shoot by putting glassware in front of a green screen. (me) as a DP, I would highly suggest we not do that. (however) I can suggest you not place your glass object too close to the green screen. I would use a fresnel light with CTO, just one direct light, with a snoot as to not disrurpt the green screen lighting.

Unfortunately rotoscoping would be the only solution outside of reshooting the shoot. I would suggest looking for a clip of glass breaking on green screen on a stock video site like pond5.com
