Learn from your mistakes so you're ready on test day! Timing isn't as much of an issue on the English section compared to other ACT sections, so take your time and focus on accuracy. Start by studying the most common grammar rules that are tested in this section, and take advantage of free online resources like Kaplan prep guides and others.

Use your smart phone to look up every word you do not recognize and store it in a list in your phone. Check the list when you have a free moment to remember the definitions. Read, write, and edit every chance you get. Study another language in order to better understand English. Take practice exams that match the structure and content of the ACT repeatedly but especially take a practice test with a week of the actual test. When you see a test question carefully examine exactly what they are asking and DO NOT look at any of the answers until you fully understand the question. It is a big mistake to look at answers before you understand the question. The exception is, of course, if the question is which answer among the choices is better.
