No. 1 is wrong because the matter from the mouse is within the snake which is still in the ecosystem.
No. 2 is wrong because matter can neither be created or destroyed
No. 3 is correct because as the mouse is digested it's matter is broken down into it's organic and inorganic components
No. 4 is wrong because the matter, as being decomposed, would break down into smaller mass not greater

The correct answer, as stated is C, the organic matter changes form as it is decayed, i.e. broken down into it's chemical components and returned to the earth
