I'm assuming that you would like to know how to form "the more ~ the more" pattern in Japanese.
Verb(ば(Conditional) form) + Verb (Dictionary form) + ほど
練習すれば練習するほど、上手になる。
The more you practice, the more you get better at it.
い adj + いければ same い adj + ほど
早ければ早いほど良い。
The sooner, the better.
な adj + なら sama な adj + なほど
そのスポーツが危険なら危険なほど、見るのは楽しい。
The more dangerous the sport, the more I enjoy watching it.
The more you stir, the faster the salt dissolves.
かき回せばかき回すほど、塩は早くとける。
The colder the weather, the more time it takes more time for snow to melt.
寒ければ寒いほど、雪がとけるまでより時間がかかる。

Hello, Zoie. I'm not certain I understand your question completely, but I can tell you that both sentences you wrote are grammatically correct. In the second sentence, it's more common to say: The colder the weather, the longer it takes for snow to melt. Does this answer your question? Judy Schiller
