Does the phrase “I see” usually have negative inclination?

During conversations I noticed people respond “I see”. What exactly “I see” means? I feel that it is quite loaded response and could mean either of the following items: - I understand your point, but that is not an outcome or something I like to hear - I agree - I understand your point Am I reading too much into it or “I see” is actually loaded response?

I see could have multiple meanings it depends on the way your using it. An example of one way could be ( I see what you did there) That means they understand what they are seeing. Then another would be if you see something visually ( I see the cat from here) just listen of context of how the sentence is being used,

People can also say it when they need to think through the new information you've just shared with them. Picture a detective being told something about his case. Instead of just standing there, he says "I see..." as he puts the pieces together in his head. If you've ever heard of an "aha moment", that's the best description of this case.

It's definitely not seen as a loaded response. In my opinion, the translation would be, "Please hold while I download this information and rearrange the files in my brain."
