asked 11/10/14need help: true or false?
A tidal power plant has been proposed for construction in the Kimberly region of Western Australia, where extreme tidal ranges are observed. The proposed plant would produce 100 GWh of electricity per annum. Consider the following statement:
"The tidal power system would produce enough electricity to power at least 15,000 homes."
Assuming a household electricity requirement of 18 kWh/d, is the above statement true or false?

The total amount of energy needed by 15,000 homes in a year is = (18 kWh/day)*(365 day)*(15,000) = 98,550,000 kWh = 98.55 GWh.
Since the plant is producing 100 GWh per year, it is enough for those 15,000 homes. TRUE.

I can give you the answer to that question alone. but there is more to this. if you join me in a class, I can teach you how to convert the power units, and teach you some rules that are used to do this type of calculations, plus anything else you might have question about from your class. do you want to join a class so that I help with clarifying anything else or do you just need one answer?08/26/24
