Greetings! Lets solve this shall we ?
So, we must find two numbers that satisfy this system of equations. Then, the set of equations look like
y = x + 9
x + y = 33..............We use substitution method such that
x + (x + 9) = 33..........Add like terms
2x + 9 = 33............Then subtract 9 such that
2x = 24..............Finally, divide 2 such that
x = 12
Then we plug 12 into either equation of your choosing such that
y = x + 9
y = 12 + 9
y = 21
I hope this helped!
