Justin, is this supposed to be 12x - 12 = 4? And they want you to solve for x?
If so, add 12 to both sides of the equation to isolate the variable to get:
12x = 16
Then divide both side of the equation by 12 to get x all by itself to get:
x = 16/12
Then reduce the fraction.
