This is a bit of an odd question because it provides a lot of information you don't need. All you're actually being asked is "how many pints are in a gallon?" which doesn't require any math here. With a quick google search, you can see that there are 8 pints per gallon! (2 pints = 1 quart, 4 quarts = 1 gallon, so 8 pints = 1 gallon.) This isn't so much a math problem as a long way of asking a question. Since it doesn't provide the information of a pint to quart to gallon conversion, I'd say it's safe to just use google on this one.
