The ratio of a triangle is 3cm 4cm 6cm. The longest has a length of 30cm.what is the shortest side
The triangle has sides with this ratio: 3 : 4 : 6
If the longest is actually 30, then the sides are: x : y : 30
Now, 30 / 6 = x / 3 - y / 4
x / 3 = 30 / 6
x = 15 [multiply both sides by 2]
y / 4 = 30 / 6
x = 20
The sides are actually: 15 : 20 : 30 [note: that this reduces to the ratio of 3 : 4 : 6 ]
