The answer cannot have imaginary numbers.
I know the binomials must have d and plus.
i am not sure what to do about the middle section.

There isn't much to solving this expression. You have to combine the like terms. So, combine the d^2. You would then get 7d^2 + 8. In other circumstances, you might have to factor, but since this is a binomial that you aren't solving for, that would be the answer.
Answer: 7d^2 + 8
