So this is subtracting and adding and you can think of doing this outside of a monetary sense.
You start with - 75 and then deposit (add) 133. If you're writing a check, you're taking the money out of the account so you are subtracting the 29 as well.
The balance is the total amount of money in the account after all of the putting in and taking out of the account.
So overall you have -75 + 133 = 58 for the first deposit.
Then you take 29 more out, so you will have 58-29 = $29.
