Since density = mass/volume, and since the materials of the boxes are the same, then they will have the same density. If they have the same density, then the ratio of their masses to their volumes will be the same. Since volume = lwh, a ratio of lw to lw can be used to compare the two boxes.
8.58/4.29 = 12.94/x
2 = 12.94 x
x = 6.47
this is true if both boxes have the same h (height)
