loops in graphs.

Question

im in 6th grade and i made a rollercoaster model and now i have to draw a graph with the loop in it. how do I do so?

On graph paper (or on plain paper),

1. plot the point that will be the bottom of the rollercoaster and entend lines in both directions
2. draw a circle using a protractor, a coin, a can, a glass, a string (one point fixed and rotate the other), ...

There are quite a few equations which result "loops, but in 6th grade I'm not sure what will make sense to you.

A circle has the equation $(x-h{)}^2+(y-k{)}^2=r^2$ where (h,k) is the center and r the radius.

There is a loop called the Folium of Descartes which has the equation

$x^3+y^3-3axy=0$ .
