I am not sure what the question really is. Are they asking to find the value of "x"? If that's the case, then:
Supplementary angles add up to 180 degrees. We are given that angle a is 56, therefore angle B= 180-56= 124 degrees.
We now know that angle B is 124 degrees, and it is also equal to 7x-23. If we want to find x, we can set the equality 7x-23=124. Solving for x we have:
x=(124+23)/7
x= 21
