I am not sure how to express this in math terms

The instructor asked that we show our work. I am not sure how to do this with the information provided

Mr stills class has music for 50 minutes and then independent reading for 20 minutes. Music starts at 8:30 what time does Mr stills class finish independent reading

How should the answer be expressed using DIVISION?

50 mins + 20 mins = 70 mins

(70 mins)/(60 mins/hr) = 1 1/6 hrs

(1/6 hr)(60 mins/hr) = 10 mins

70 mins = 1 hr 10 mins

This at least includes division as part of showing how much time has elapsed,
but I'm not sure what your instructor is looking for.
