How to Workout and Solve this Problem?

Question

This equation involves negative and positive exponents.  I'm pretty sure I  know how to solve it, I even found an answer. But I just confused about weather I'm right or not.

 

How would you work out this problem?

(2 to the -2 power times 2 to the 4 power)to the 5 power, divided by 2 times 2 to the 5 power =???

 

I tried working it out once, but someone told me I was doing it wrong so now I'm confused?

The answer I got was:  23,877,116

(2^-2*2⁴)⁵/(2*2⁵)

 

= (2⁴/2²)⁵/2¹⁺⁵     [2 = 2¹ and 2¹*2⁵=2¹⁺⁵=2⁶]

 

= (2²)⁵/2⁶

 

= 2¹⁰/2⁶

 

= 2^10-6

 

= 2⁴

 

= 16

(2^-2 × 2^4)^5 ÷ 2 × 2^5

 

(2^-10 × 2^20) ÷ 2 x 32

 

2^10 ÷ 2 × 32

 

1,024 ÷ 2 × 32

 

512 × 32

 

=16,384
